Grab a smock and get ready to create a work of art! The Art Studio is a fun, messy, hands-on activity space where children and families make art together.

STUDIO HOURS :
Drop-in between 10:00-4:00 unless listed otherwise on the studio door.
During busy times, we will open the door every half an hour to 25 visitors INCLUDING ADULTS! The studio programs is for adults and kids to work together!

APRIL:
National Puppetry Month!
Celebrate with Art Studio and create your own stick or finger puppet during our Open Studio hours, 10:30-4:30 Monday through Saturday! You’ll also collect lots of great ideas for making puppets with stuff you have at home, or from the Recycle Shop!

Saturday, April 19th: Celebrate Sense of Smell Day by painting with scented paints.

Sunday, April 20th: Celebrate Cherry Blossom Festival with a pressed-flowers project.

MAY:
Fibre Arts
Learn to crochet, collage with fabric, or try weaving on a loom. Learn to sew on Sundays!*

JUNE:
Paint Party
Drop in and enjoy your favorite messy material. Invent new colors, add texture to paintings, or practice with watercolors.

Sign up for a Family Workshop, Sundays starting at 10:30am, 11:30am, 2:30pm and 3:30pm. Work together to create a real felt hand puppet to take home. This workshop is for kids ages 5+ and their adults. Sign up ½ hour before start times at the Art Studio door. Afternoon workshops often fill up – we recommend coming for the earliest workshop! Make a Flag for SummersDay Revels 2008!

SummersDay Revels, a free outdoor intercultural festival to welcome in the summer season, will take place on Boston’s waterfront at the Boston Children’s Museum and Fort Point Channel on June 21st and 22nd from 4:00 pm to twilight. Multiple stages will offer a bountiful feast of art, music, theater and dance. The Congress Street and Moakley Bridges will frame the festival area, decked out with hundreds of silk flags. The children of greater Boston will decorate the flags with Suns and Moons, in honor of the SummersDay Revels grand procession that kicks off the events of each day. Make a flag to contribute to the display at one of these workshops*!
