In honor of Melvin Coombs (1948 - 1997)
Champion dancer, educator, and beloved tribal member

"For the 'People of the First Light,' the annual pow-wow is a time for meeting old and new friends, strengthening the ties of our Native American heritage, sharing the knowledge and wisdom from our elders to our youth, and a time to thank the Great Spirit for letting us come together. The pow-wow gives Native Americans a chance to show unity and to share traditional and contemporary talents with those who join us on this occasion."
