The Boston Waterfront Learning Project

The Boston Waterfront Learning Project offers a collection of resources to invite and support adults in bringing children to the water's edge. Our goal is to start a child on a lifetime journey of learning about the Boston Harbor and its watershed, enjoying it in a personal way and participating in its ongoing care.

Here you will find places to explore and ways to prepare for your visit. We offer a variety of activities designed by classroom teachers to lead to powerful learning. Look for background information, examples from children's learning, and trip tips. We make strong connections to Massachusetts Learning Standards.

Our project is a collaborative effort of people who work with children and environmental groups. Boston Public School teachers, Boston Children's Museum and New England Aquarium staff created these activities with help from many.
