How do we get objects for the collection?
Sometimes we buy objects for a specific exhibit or program. Most of our collections, however, have come to us as gifts, or donations. People have been donating objects to the Museum for 90 years.

Most people donate to the Museum because they would like to share their treasures with others.

When someone offers to donate an object to the Museum, we first check to see if we already have that kind of object. Then we check to see if it is in good condition, and if it will fit in our store rooms. Once the Museum accepts an object for the collection, we keep it forever.
