Boston Children's Museum To Honor First Responders During The Month Of May

April 30, 2013
Free Museum Admission for Public Safety and Medical Personnel
BOSTON, MA – April 30, 2013 – Boston Children's Museum announced today that during the month of May, it will recognize first responders and medical personnel for their efforts in aiding victims and families affected by the Boston Marathon bombing.

All month, the Museum will offer free admission with a photo ID and proof of employment for all police, fire, EMT, and U.S. Military personnel and their dependents as well as to all medical personnel from Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston Medical Center, Boston Children's Hospital, Tufts Medical Center, Brigham & Women's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, and Mount Auburn Hospital.

"In times of tragedy, we look to first responders, who risk their lives to ensure our care and safety,” said Carole Charnow, President & CEO, Boston Children's Museum. “As a way to give back we are delighted to be able to provide free admission to them and their dependents during the month of May. We hope that a visit to the Museum will provide first responders and medical personnel the opportunity to share a wonderful day with their families during a most difficult time."

Immediately following the Boston Marathon tragedy, Boston Children's Museum responded by posting help for parents on its website, providing gifts to children being treated in local hospitals, and offering Museum passes to patients and their families as well as doctors and nurses treating Marathon patients. The First Responder Month will continue the Museum's efforts to help and support families at a time of great need.
