New Group Show Gallery Installation at Boston Children’s Museum Showcases “All About Animals”

September 28, 2016
Exhibit Features 40 Artists From Around the World
Boston Children’s Museum will open a new gallery exhibit, “All Things Animal” a two-month group show all about animals! All Things Animal invites Museum visitors to observe, identify, walk, talk, and play like the animals featured in the exhibit. The exhibition features the work of 40+ artists from around the world, including many local artists from Boston’s Fort Point community. Animals are presented in a wide array of sizes and mediums. Museum visitors can’t miss the five-foot tall polar bear, by local artist, Diane Fiedler, but they will have to look for Laura Giardina’s five-inch tall ladybug!

“Kids and grownups alike love animals! “All Things Animal” has been a gallery show long in development beginning with an open call to artists last spring,” said Gallery Committee Member, Linda Markarian. “The many representations of animals brought to us by a myriad of talented artists will capture the imagination everyone shares for living creatures big and small.”

Museum visitors can start their animal exploration at Boston Children’s Museum’s Science Playground to observe the live snake, Oliver, and bearded dragon, Watson. If visiting with a toddler, guests can view the fish tank in PlaySpace to start the conversation about animals and then find their way to The Gallery where animals of all shapes and sizes will be on display.

The installation is scheduled to run September 23 - November 27, 2016.
