Under the Tent Every Day Fun!



Drop in for every day sidewalk chalk drawings, hula-hooping, jump-roping, sand play, and other outdoor games and see below special day-to-day activities.

SPECIAL EVERY DAY UNDER-THE-TENT ACTIVITIES

MONDAYS
Messy Monday, 11am–3:30pm
Celebrate creativity, innovation, and messiness.

TUESDAYS
Making Music, 10:30am–12:30pm
Drum circles, musical games, and sing-a-longs.

WEDNESDAYS
Science on the Boardwalk, 10:30am–12:30pm
Sometimes science is too big, wet, or messy to do inside! Join us in explorations such as designing rockets, investigating creatures that live in the channel, and tracing our shadows.

Water Wednesdays, 2–3pm
Use spray bottles to paint a masterpiece, participate in a variety of wet games, or splash on water drums! Warning—you will get wet! Activities vary weekly.

THURSDAYS
Dance class with Urbanity Dance, 11am–12pm
Stretch, twist, turn, and explore fun ways to move your body through dance.
Art expressions, 1–3pm
Explore different media and methods and develop artistic skills.

FRIDAYS
Science on the Boardwalk, 10:30am–12:30pm

SUNDAYS
Music & Movement, 10:30am–11:15am
Sing along to music that gets all ages moving! Infants, toddlers, and preschoolers enjoy live music and interact through sound, sight, and touch.

FRESH FRIDAYS
July 7, 14, 21 and 28, 5:30–7:30pm
Join Boston Children’s Museum, Boston
Public Market and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation for an outdoor celebration of healthy food fun! Participate in demonstrations highlighting kid-friendly recipes and visit a mobile produce stand offering locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables. Sponsored by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation.

FISHING 101
July 5–August 25
Monday-Thursday, 10am-1pm & 2pm-4pm Fridays, 10am–1pm & 3pm–5pm

Join our friends from Save the Harbor, Save the Bay for fishing from our boardwalk.
There will be no Fishing 101 on August 4 or August 7

MAKER WEEKENDS
MAKE IT GO!
July 14, 5pm–9pm & July 15, 11am–3pm
Planes, trains, cars, boats—what will you build? Make it go with wheels, wings, or wind. Follow some tried and true designs or invent something entirely new.

MAKE IT WORK! Project FUNway
August 11, 5pm–9pm & August 12, 11am–3pm
Upcycle ordinary materials into fancy, fun, fearless wearable art. Work in teams to solve design challenges and discover new ways to wear old stuff! Then strut your stuff on the FUNway with other young makers.

MINI DANCE FESTIVAL WITH URBANITY DANCE

Join us for a day of performances and workshops with Urbanity Dance and local youth dance groups of all different genres.

BASEBALL DAY
Thursday, July 27, 11am–3pm
Play ball! Run the bases, dress-up like a baseball player, and design your own team uniform.

A VERY WIZARDLY CELEBRATION
Saturday, July 29, 11am–4pm
Come dressed in your robes and bring your wand. Don’t have a wand? Worry not, you can make one. Potions, Quidditch practice, and much more awaits you. Your house needs your support to win the House Cup. Muggles and Wizards alike welcome!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BOSTON CHILDREN’S MUSEUM!
Tuesday, August 1, 10am-5pm
Help the Museum celebrate its 104th birthday. Write a message on a giant birthday card, help decorate a pretend cake, make a birthday hat or crown, and sing Happy Birthday to your favorite Museum

Every Day Amazing Happenings

-Create Art projects in Studio A.

-Tour the Japanese House. Experience Japanese family life, customs, ceremonies, art, and architecture in this 100-year-old house.

-Visit our special exhibit Explore-a-Saurus: See a life-size animatronic Dilophosaurus, explore the evidence, and see where it leads.

-Attend a short play in the KidStage theater, created especially for children and families.

-Practice your school readiness skills in our Countdown to Kindergarten exhibit.

-Explore, experiment, and pretend in PlaySpace, an exhibit developed just for children 0-3 and their caregivers.

-Dig, climb, and build in Construction Zone. Ride a real Bobcat, operate the jackhammer and deploy a team of trucks on your own construction site.

-Notice, wonder, question, and play in Science Playground.
