Massachusetts Brain Building in Progress Week – Let’s Build Our Brains with Physical Activity!

For one week every year, across the Commonwealth, parents, business leaders, educators, and community leaders create family activities to build young minds and a more prosperous future for everyone in Massachusetts.

This year, our special emphasis is how physical activity builds brains. And we have a very special guest to get us going. Lucky the Leprechaun, the Boston Celtics mascot will be here to build your brain with physical activity April 5th from 11-12.

During the week you can meet Brainy the Brain Building in Progress elephant, take a StoryWalk on the green, get helpful tip sheets, and engage in various activities that encourage young children's growth and development!

Program Highlights

Music & Movement in the Common, April 7, 11-12; April 9, 11-12

Listening to music can change your mood. Playing music requires new motor skills as your brain hears and makes sounds. Infants, toddlers, and preschoolers interact through sound, sight and touch and enjoy live music. Grownups and children join in with real drums, tambourines, and other noise-makers. All classes are led by trained music educators from Little Groove.
