This year, our special emphasis is how physical activity builds brains. And we have a very special guest to get us going. Lucky the Leprechaun, the Boston Celtics mascot will be here to build your brain with physical activity April 5th from 11-12.
During the week you can meet Brainy the Brain Building in Progress elephant, take a StoryWalk on the green, get helpful tip sheets, and engage in various activities that encourage young children's growth and development!

StoryWalk Inside & Outside, All Week, All Day
Go outside or inside the Museum and read a story as you walk along and build your brain! Pages of a book are transformed into signs that are then laid out on a trail inviting children and their families to follow the path of the story. Physical activity helps children learn to read and write!

Story Time in Countdown to Kindergarten, April 6, 1:30-2; April 8, 11-11:30
Reading helps children with their expressive and receptive language skills. Predicting what’s going to happen next in the story helps build your brain building!
Dress to Express in the Common, April 7, 10-12
Express yourself. Put on a costume, mix and match, and strut down the runway. Dance to the music. Using your imagination and learning about the world through play builds your brain!
Music & Movement in the Common, April 7, 11-12; April 9, 11-12
Listening to music can change your mood. Playing music requires new motor skills as your brain hears and makes sounds. Infants, toddlers, and preschoolers interact through sound, sight and touch and enjoy live music. Grownups and children join in with real drums, tambourines, and other noise-makers. All classes are led by trained music educators from Little Groove.

Enjoy a fun, energizing yoga session specifically designed for young children and grown-ups together. Learning to relax, breathe deeply and de-stress is great for your brain!
