Join us for a special event based on the Act Early & Reach Out & Read book "Amazing Me! It's Busy Being Three" for families of young children. Activities include:
- Walk along, get your exercise and have fun reading a story outside the Museum on the green. We call this a StoryWalk!
- Sing songs and play games that make 3 year olds very happy in Music & Movement sessions starting at 10:30, and 11:15.
- Learn about developmental milestones in 3 year olds, in the Countdown to Kindergarten exhibit and the Art Studio.
- Meet representatives from The Centers for Disease Control who will hand out books in English and Spanish. Look for the "Learn the Signs. Act Early." messages displayed around the museum, on our website and at the MA Act Early Campaign table.
Call to Action for Families: Follow Development with Monitoring and Screening: Watch your child’s development and talk with your child’s doctor at every check-up about how your child plays, learns, speaks, acts, and moves. Ask your child’s doctor about developmental screening when your child is 9, 18, and either 24 or 30 months, and autism screening at 18 and either 24 or 30 months or whenever there is a concern. More information from CDC.
