Join us for a live performance of an original musical with Artbarn Community Theater’s Out of the Box Productions.

Our society is an increasingly disposable one. We are all constantly told to “reduce, reuse, and recycle”, yet how much have our habits truly changed? Most of us agree on what needs to be done, but it be challenging to act on it. How far are we willing to go to be green? Down In The Dumps looks beyond the trash can to explore the implications of our relationship with stuff, from purchase to use to disposal. In a world where it’s so easy to just “throw it away”, how can we address our attitude of convenience over consciousness?

Out of the Box Productions, Artbarn’s only audition-based troupe, is a community service program that strives to bring socially relevant theatre into the Brookline Public Schools, and the surrounding community. Each year two casts of 4th – 6th grade actors travel an original piece to all eight Brookline elementary schools, reaching nearly every K – 6th grade student in Brookline.

This performance is ASL interpreted.
