With the exception of service animals, animals are not permitted in the Museum.
Assistive Listening Devices
Amplified listening devices are available for all KidStage performances. These devices are available at the Admissions desk.
Baby changing tables are available in the Family Restrooms on each floor. Nursing is allowed anywhere in the Museum.

There is a coatroom located on the 1st floor. Please be advised that valuables should not be left in this area.
Boston Children's Museum is close to Boston's major highways and is easily accessible by public transportation, including the MBTA train, bus, and water shuttle. Click here for directions.
Food & Drink
Food and drinks are only allowed in the Museum’s designated eating areas. Snacks and lunches are welcome in the 1st floor lunchroom. Please consider leaving nuts and nut butters at home. Learn more about the Museum’s Allergy Awareness program.
Swearing and offensive language are not permitted in the Museum.
Our Information Desk is located in the 1st floor lobby. Services provided include: Parking validation, lost and found, directions, visit planning, first aid, and lost persons.
Lockers are available on the 1st floor. The Museum does not have additional storage for larger items that do not fit in the lockers, including large suitcases, car seats, scooters or bikes.
Lost and Found
Lost and found is located at the 1st floor Information Desk. If you have lost an item, please fill out the Lost and Found form.
For the safety of all, grown-ups should stay with their children (under the age of 16) at all times during their visit and should have a plan in place in case of accidental separation. If a child and grown-up become separated, a staff person in purple should be notified. The Museum has a procedure in place for reuniting children with their grown-ups.
Museum maps are available at both Admissions and the Information desk. The Museum offers maps in the following languages: Cape Verdean Creole, English, French, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Somali, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Vietnamese. Restrooms are located on each floor as well as in the 1st floor lunchroom. For the convenience of our visitors, there is a Family restroom on each floor.
Smoking is not allowed on Museum property.
Stroller parking space is limited in the Museum. Please consider leaving your stroller at home or using a smaller umbrella-style stroller. Strollers can be parked in the 1st floor coatroom as well as on the ends of the 2nd and 3rd floor bridges. Please note that some exhibit spaces cannot accommodate strollers. Valuables should not be left in unattended strollers.
Any adult who wishes to visit the Museum without a child must leave a photo ID at our Admissions desk. Likewise, any adult who enters the Museum without a child in his/her presence must also leave a photo ID. This policy is in place for the safety of our youngest visitors. Please note that the Museum defines an adult as any person age 16+.
Adult and child-size wheelchairs are available at the Admission desk for visitors to borrow.
